About Us | Score for Score
Score for Score is a website dedicated to putting gymnastics data to good use. I created it during the lazy summer before starting graduate school, when I was looking for an interesting way to practice my database management skills. To help
you put gymnastics data to good use, I've put together two tools:
- The Score Selector lets you compare scores for individual gymnasts, in the all-around or on each event. It's great for thinking about who might take home a medal or qualify for event finals.
- The Team Tester lets you calculate team totals for any line-up you'd like. Choose a five-person, three up, three count situation to check what might happen in a World Championships team final. Or plan Tokyo 2021 and try out a four-person team. See who's scores might be used and who's might get dropped.
The
blog houses further gymnastics-related content. Some of it is data-driven, some of it isn't. If you've got an idea about women's artistic gymnastics and you're looking for a place to put it, let me know - guest posts are certainly welcome.
The scores themselves are pulled from
The Gymternet. Without their painstaking efforts to put scores into a clean and usable format, Score for Score would not be possible.
